I had a title company copy the property description of the ohio property and signed and notarized the deed in Florida, mailed it to my nephew in Ohio. When he took it to Cuyahoga County recorder they told him they could arrest him for trying to file the deed that way! When I called them and asked them exactly what was wrong with it and what they needed they said they could not tell me because that was considered giving legal advice. Can I file a deed for an Ohio property in Florida? Do I have to have an attorney do it?

It is not legal to noterized and record a deed in Florida as the property is actually in Ohio. Record the deed in Ohio.
