We are trying to miove back to New England from Cleveland. But without est. jobs (I'm a nurse, my spouse is a sub contractor /home inspector), we will be hard pressed to get a mortgage rather than have to rent. even with a larger down payment. Is it possible to apply here in Ohio for a NO Doc or NINA loan to use to buy in NH or ME? Then refinance at a lower rate a couple years down the road.

There are rumors of the "No Doc" loan making a comeback, but I do not know of any lenders offering them.

Rumors aside, finding a lender in the midwest willing to provide funds for a purchase in New England is going to be awfully difficult. You're better off seeking a national lender that has ties in both areas; often a local branch can refer you to a branch location nearby where you're trying to purchase. No-doc, though, is a rare bird.
