my husband is refinancing our home and says that the bank has no need to check my credit. currently, we are both on the deed and have been for 7 years. we have been having problems and i'm worried that this can't be done and that i wont be on the deed anymore even though he says i will. IN the state of Ohio, will they re-do a mortgage with out the wifes credit or work history being checked and she still be on the mortgage/deed?

Hi veryl!

Welcome to forums!

If both of you plan to refinance the loan, then the lender would check your husband's credit as well as your credit. However, if your husband wants to refinance the loan alone in his name, then your credit will not be taken into consideration. As far as the property deed is considered, unless you sign a quit claim deed in your husband's favor, your name will not be removed from the deed.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
