My fiance' and I are getting married in November, 2010. He owns his own in Woodward, OK. I own my home in Tulsa, Ok. where we will eventually live. He is not in a hardship situation and has not fallen behind on his mortgage. The bank is saying he has to be at least 6 payments behind for a short sale. What can we do? Lease to own is not a good idea when we're 3 1/2 hours down the turnpike. We can not keep up repairs from that far away!!! HELP!!!!!!

Hi kimz,

Unless your fiancé is delinquent on his mortgage payments, the lender will not be ready to short sale the property. Your fiancé can rent the property for the time being. He can list the property in the market in order to find whether or not he gets buyers for the property. If he gets buyers for the property, he would be able to sell off the property.
