We are trying to sell 2nd house and only receive owner/finance offers. We have a home equity loan on the house and are concerned about the note being called in if we try to owner/finance rather than sell outright. Can anyone be of help?

Hi treeworks,

The lender is not supposed to foreclose on your property as long as you are current on the loan. That's what matters most for the lender. You can enter into rent-to-own type of owner financing agreement. The buyer will pay a certain amount of payment and will rent the property from you. In exchange they will get the right to buy the property after a particular time. But in any case, you should talk to the lender first before entering into any sort of agreement.
