My Father passed away,and he quit claimed his home to me,which i am residing in now. He had a mortgage but my name is not on the loan.The loan did not get paid off when he died. What are my options, I can't afford the monthly payments.I stopped paying a few months ago, and the bank wont talk to me because my name isnt on the loan.

now you are owner of house but there is a mortgage line against your house. Bank has every right to sell & forclose the mortgage to recover money given as mortgage.

you need to see your current equity in house.

If you do notrefinance the bank will foreclose the house and you end up loosing it

Show yoru quit claim deed and see if you cna refiannce the loan in your name
