What's the best bank with best right now to a new home purchase?

Try for FHA mortgage.

A lot depends on your financial background, credit score, down payment etc

there is no such thing as the best bank with the best rate right now. you would have to search every search engine, call every bank, check every website, etc. and by the time you spent an hour doing that, one of those you checked earlier will have a better rate.

if you are so rate-sensitive that it's the only method by which you choose your lender, you may well be in for rough sailing.

I agree with George. You should also consider how much 1/8 of a point in the rate means to you in your monthly payment. You could end up locking with someone who is proposing a rate that is $10 per month lower than the other guy, but you could also be paying thousands more in fees to get it.

Thats really good rate

The rates have been above 5% for soem time and 5% is good in this market
