The term Mortgage Market means simply mortgage market for home financing transactions. The primary mortgage market is broken into two types of transactions:
1) purchases mortgage market.
2) refinances mortgage market.

Both fall under the overall category of mortgage originations.

The purchase market is decided by economic factors such as

1) employment.
2) income growth.
3) rate of home price appreciation.
