How can I get a mortgage after bk.

I finally qualified and received a mortgage after a Chpt 7 BK.
Discharged in 2004. Mortgage 2009. You might be able to get one sooner...but it took a while to rebuild a good credit history. Mortgage companies scutinize more now than ever. Had to have at least 2+ years of good credit history. I still had to explain the BK and old credit dings.
