I thought my husband and I were going to buy a house next week. I found out the mortgage he was going to arrange didn't go through. We had a mortgage before and had no problems getting it. My husband makes decent money. I went to a mortgage company because he wasn't securing a loan. What they showed me shocked me. I saw credit cards, about seven that had balances up to 17,000 on then. Needless to say, we won't be funded. We do have some good credit and only a couple cards have my name on them. He says they are not his. Two are. One was from a moving company for about $9,000 that the company backed out of paying. Fine, I could have dealt with it, but he lied about it. We are looking at the report together today and going to call each credit card company. He called some 800# and said lawyers will look into it and see about getting it off. My question is, will we have to let this house we looked for so long go. I am devastated. I was planning to move. Can we do anything within a month? We were going to ask to rent out the house for a month and close if and when this gets cleared up.
