I am on loan modification process. The bank already told me that they should be getting back to me for a final decision within 45 days after 4 months of waiting. My payments have been current and don't want to ruin my credit. I found out yesterday that my payment for October wasn't applied towards the interest and principal and frustrates me. My November bill says October payment received, "unapplied". I am not sure why. My negotiator said because I am under loan modification process that they put my payment on hold. So I told myself "why should I even be paying". If I have to skip my November payment, will it affect my credit?
