Collection agency stopped calling us

They sent all documents to the lender on June this year. After being called daily during June through September, suddenly the calls from a collection agency have stopped. I called Nova Dean Pack and they said the lender is negotiating. Is it why the calls have stopped? It is four months since the application was fowarded and we are beginning to pack just in case. Can you bluntly tell us what may be happening?
