My grandmother who is in her 80's, has dementia. She has not made a house payment in over a year. If the courts forclose in Jan, how much time does she have after court before she has to move out? She has tried to modify her morgage to no avail.

it should take a minimum of 6 months for the lender to receive a judgment from the court, so you're looking at june or later for the earliest possible date, in all likelihood.

beyond that, i suggest you contact the attorney general's office in maine, to see how far past the judgment date someone may stay in a foreclosed home. how about a sale?

who's helping your grandmother? i trust there's someone whose mind is clear (and i'm not being mean or sarcastic here). this is a critical thing that needs, quite frankly, clear-headedness to wade through.
