I STARTED THE PROCESS OF DEED IN LIEU I WAS WONDING IF THE MORTGAGE DEBT FORGIVINESS RELIEF STILL BE THERE FOR ME WHEN I GET DONE WITH PROCESS OUR DO YOU HAVE TO WANT TILL AFTER YOU BANK SELLS THE HOUSE TO USE DEBT RELIEF PROGAM BECAUSE I SETTLE SOME CEDIT CARDS AND IT TOOK 2 TO 3 TO GET A TAX FORM FOR THE DIFFERANCE

Hi arrollins,

After a deed in lieu of foreclosure, the lender will forgive the deficient balance resulting from the sale of the property. However, you won't be liable for paying off any taxes on the forgiven debt depending upon the Mortgage Debt Forgiveness Act.
