What happens when two people purchased a home through currently known as UDSA formly FHA and one leaves because of spousal abuse and the other says the house belongs to them...And runs the other off. Whats in case of one who forced the other out dies. I mean what then happens to the property and both names are still on the property? Can the desease fix it where his/her family assumes responsibility for the property?

Hi satinhands,

If both the names are still on the property, then the living co-owner can file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office and get the property transferred in his or her name. This will make the person sole owner of the property.

Thanks
