will chapter 13 stop a short sale if a offer has been made to the bank?

Once you file bankruptcy, the court will issue an automatic stay and your creditors will not be able to sue you for your debts. Thus, the short sale would be stopped. Chapter 13 bankruptcy is all about reorganizing your debts. Your lender will give you a repayment plan to pay off the dues. This will in turn help you save the property.

defining a short sale provides no benefit whatsoever to the guest who asked about the effect of a chapter 13 filing on a short sale.
