The lender put street instead of avenue on the deed of trust. Now they want me to sign a ryder to correct this. I have been in the property for four months. Do I have to sign this ? what is the advantage of signing and can the lender make me sign the ryder.

lender cant force you to sign but they can call the loan due as you have most likely signed the rider at closing saying you will help them correct any mistakes that occur

Hi bwomansworth,

As far as I know, a rider helps in amending or correcting an error or helps in adding a provision to a member contract which increases or restricts its coverage. If you sign the rider as suggested by the lender, it will help you in rectifying the deed and correcting the address. It is mainly for your benefit so I think you should sign it. But before signing it, check out the information written on it.

Thanks
