I have bill collectors at the door. I have no money coming in except for her pention and my disputed disability pention through the va of 123.00, I am also getting food stamps. I also have a 2nd loan on a house which forclosed and it was 40 thousand dollars (a company bought this loan and are knocking at my door). I also have respective other debts which I cant pay at about 20 thousand dollars. I am disabled with back problems / right arm nerve damage and could only work certain jobs and one job that I could work involved standing and sitting at my request (I lost this job because my mother became ill). I cant find a job like that one. They are all taken. Should I file bankruptcy. 7 or 11. Question Rolling Eyes

Hi Gardog,

You should speak to a bankruptcy attorney and discuss your situation in details. The attorney will let you know which chapter of bankruptcy is best suited for you. You can go ahead for Chapter 7 but you will have to clear the means test. However, you should remember that filing chapter 7 will have a negative effect on your credit report. This will stay in your credit report for the next 10 years and will lower your credit score by 200-250 points.

Take care.
