what could be the best course of action if the person is disabled and recently have taken mortgage but now he could not afford to pay the bills.

As the person can not even go for higher pay job due to disability. and current job market.

He lives in NJ. and looking for the possible answers any specific government scheme? plz suggest if you know anything about it.

Hi Benson,

I'm not aware of any Govt. scheme in New Jersey that aims at helping a disabled person afford mortgage payments. There are programs that offer loans and down payment assistance to people with disability to help them buy a home. But he has just taken a mortgage and does not need a new mortgage at the moment. I think he should request the lender to do a loan modification. This can reduce the payments and help him afford the mortgage.
