I am going to be divorced this month 18th October 2010. I was living in Asia with my husband as an ex pat for close to twenty years. He had numerous affairs with young Asian girls. After taking the final stand, and moving back to my country "unemployable" as I have been a housewife and mother for close to 30 years. He had the privilege of getting and attorney. I had no way of having a fair chance, if I did not sign the pre divorce papers, he would not give me maintenance. I had to meet up with his attorney, and also saw the advocate. The advocate was appalled what I was to receive and asked his attorney to add things into the agreement. The advocate wanted me to have a death policy, so I would be looked after if he had to pass away. I knew he did have a Alliance policy, and he did sign it over to me. But as I have been deceived so often, I did some investigation, emailed his policy number and Identification number to Alliance, I was informed that the policy no longer exists as he has defaulted in payment. Surely this is called fraud if I sign this in front of the courts. I basically signed my life over to this man. We both owned two homes "still being payed off" and I signed my rights to him. His excuse, just in case he cant pay, I wont have the banks on my back! I would like to know, will my name come off automatically off the bonds once this divorce is granted? Thanking you for your assistance.

Hi shirleybotha!

Welcome to forums!

As far as I can understand, your name won't come off the bond automatically if you're divorced. You should try and contact an attorney and take his help in this matter. He will be able to guide you in a better way in this case.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hi Sussane,
You get so many queries and complaints all the time. I would like to take this opportunity to thank-you for your quick and helpful response. Wish there were more helpful attorneys like yourself in this world. I have decided to not go ahead with this divorce on the 18th October, and try and get a better deal. Take care.
