My mom passed on Sept 21st. She had a warranty deed on her home that had me & my sister joint tenants with rights to suriviorship. Right before she passed a creditor put a lien on the house for 14,000.00. Her home is so old it's probably not even worth 5,000.00. I asked them if they would remove the lien and they said no and I offered them the house and they said no. My sister has no money to help, she doesnt seem interested she wanted to blow it up for insurance money. Everyone says I should walk away from the house but what about liabilty and taxes?

If it were me, I'd donate the house to a Church.
