Will the lender still send you a 1098 if your house is on the market for "short sale"?

Hi reymarromero!

Welcome to forums!

A 1098 form is filed with the IRS that details the amount of interest and mortgage-related expenses paid on a mortgage during the tax year. Thus, though your property is listed for a short sale, the lender will send you the form.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
