tythomasjr08 Joined: 05 Jan 2010 Posts: 1 1.29 Dollars($)	Posted: Tue Jan 05, 2010 8:01 pm    Post subject: Child Support lein Like 0 Dislike 0 If a 30year old child support lein is on a property and it is sold for an amount considerably less than the lein amount, will the property be clear of the lien for the new owner after the sale proceeds are paid to the lein holder?

It will depend upon the lien holder's discretion. You need to contact the lien holder and check out if he/she would release the lien after being paid the sale proceeds and declare the property free and clear. If the lien holder doesn't agree, then it will have to be paid in full either by the seller or by the new owner. Feel free to ask if you've further queries. Sussane
