Hi Iramos!

Welcome to forums!

A collection agency can definitely place lien on your property to recover the dues. They will have to file a lawsuit in the court and pass a judgment in order to place a lien on the property. You can ask the collection agency to show you the required documents.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.

Hi iramos,

You can definitely file Chapter 7 to get discharged of the collections but not all liens are discharged in bankruptcy. You need to contact your bankruptcy attorney and take his opinion in this regard.

Thanks
