A contractor did not complete the work he was to do for me. We did not have a written agreement. We did not sign a contract or anything. I have a written copy of a proposal for work. The contractor has threatened to place a lien on my house. Is this possible?

Hi Mother!

Welcome to forums!

If there is no legal document, then I don't think the contractor can place a lien. However, I would suggest you to contact an attorney and take his opinion in this issue.

Hi Mother,

Welcome to our forum.

If you have not written agreement by contractor that means you can't force him to put the lien. If he doing some fraud with you then as smith say you can get help from lawyer to solve it.

Thanks & Regards.
