my mother has signed over the building to me. but she is now in a nursing home for health reasons. her health benefits have exhausted, she has a house, and her name is on a second mortgage she took out , on the building i live in. i pay the mortgage every month. will they try and put the building in with her house as assets. what chance do i have to keep the building. my credit is not great, but i seem to have a good standing with the bank. (where the mortgage is).

If the property is in your name, then it would be considered as your property. The nursing home won't be able to consider it as a part of your mother's asset. Thus, as far as I can understand, you would be able to save the property if you are paying your mortgage on time.
