Can a creditor put a lien on a home where your name is only on deed and not mortgage?
Hi tneylon,

If you are the only person listed on the deed, a creditor cannot put a lien on the property. You are not responsible for the loan because you are not on the mortgage agreement. The creditors cannot come after your assets for loans you are not responsible for.

I suppose this question is not continuation of the similar question where person is behind on mortgage payments on some other home and here he is only on deed.

But either of these cases the person who is on deed never have to be bothered about the payments to mortgage but he is liable for payments of property taxes
keep in touch............
