My father was put into a nursing home when i was 15 for paranoid schizophrenia and has been in one for 17 years, my mother was living in the house and I moved back in in 2004 early 2005 and i took care of her up until this past year. While i was taking care of my mother i became ill with some of the same illness as my father. Bypolar and schizophrenia. Now I have been struggling with work and can't get medical treatment i need. I've been denied medicaid. I take what ever free samples of medicine my doctor gives me and an anxiety medicine because i suffer from severe anxiety. I gave up 3 to 4 years of my life and lost alot of my mind helping my mother while she was ill living in the home. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar. Manic depression. I filed for disability a few years ago while i continued to take care of my mother who was staying in the home. With another one of my brothers who was also disabled. He has since moved to a group home. I now live with my other brother who has a learning diability but does not collect disability. Now my mother is no longer in the home my father is the only one on the deed and i live in the house with a broken mind because of all the stress of taking care of my family and not being able to go on with my life. Now since my mom hasn't been in the home for 13 months they want to sell the house. I have a hearing coming up next week for my disability because i have had several nervous breakdowns. I have had a history of seeking dr help with depression and anxiety. I haven't been able to work because of my situation being so severe. I don't want to lose the house it's the only thing keeping me from completely going insane.

Basically i gave up my life to take care of my mom and have lost my ability to deal stress and have developed a severe anxiety, depression, and schizophrenia over the last several years while taking care of my mother almost the same thing that happend to my dad before he ended up in a nursing home for schizophrenia paranoid. I have a disability hearing this week for my mental health. I also suffer from fybromyalgia. Is there anything i can do to keep the house.

Hi allenrich!

Welcome to forums!

Though your mother is not staying in the property, did you keep on paying the dues? If not, then the lender will have the rights to foreclose the property. You should contact the lender and inform him about your situation. Moreover, you'll have to ask your mother to apply for a loan modification. This will help you in saving the property and the loan would become affordable for you.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Welcome back allenrich,

You'll have to pay the property taxes on time or else the tax department may place a lien on your property. You can contact the concerned department check out if they can help you with a payment plan to pay off the property taxes.
