Past due mortgage payments

Posted on: 25th Jun, 2013 01:21 am
My parents passed away and now I want to save their house so that my brother has a place to live. But the mortgage payments are due for the last 3 months. Will I be able to save my house? How?
Hi Bully,

If you wish to save the house, then you will have to somehow arrange for the past due payments and pay off the dues. If you cannot do so, the lender will start off with the foreclosure process.

Take care

hi bully,

yes, once the payments or the dues are cleared, the lender won't foreclose the property. you may even refinance the mortgage in your name and pay off the loan.
