We did not receive anything from our mortgage company, I just checked it online. What should be our first step?
Should we go to county recorder office and request a copy of morgage release, but what I am looking for? Should we receive a deed or something else? Or should I request research on title and see if we have any leins?
I never heard that lender can release mortgage, may it is kind of mistake?
Thank you

Hi natali!

Welcome to forums!

The county recorder won't provide you with a lien release certificate. You will have to contact your lender in order to get a lien release certificate. However, you can contact the county recorder's office in order to find out if there is a lien on your property.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

This has been a peculiar string, but it's gratifying if the truth of the matter is that this lender has released all those mortgages.

What company is this that released those liens? How do I get a lien released if I submitted my notice of right to cancel within the 3 day period and the lender refused to cancel? I'm in North Carolina.

Tony, what was the transaction you were involved in - a refinance? It would certainly seem like that since only a primary residence being refinanced would call for rescission rights.

Did your old mortgage get paid in full with this new loan? Don't look for a release of the mortgage any time soon, but you might get somewhere by looking to whatever governing agency this company is supervised by. If they did rescission wrong, there could be a windfall waiting for you.

Gary you may be broke, but it appears you still own your home without a mortgage. Isn't that kind of favorable?
