When divorced I stayed in our home. I am paying mortgage for one year now. I want to buy the house.Ex wife is broker and wants to sell the house to me at inflated cost. Is this not a conflict of interest. She has requested receivership from the court to sell it. I want to buy the house at market value, what can I do to stop this process?

Hi greed,

Your ex-wife cannot sell the house at an inflated price. That will be considered an unfair sales transaction. She needs to sell it at a fair market value. You can take the issue to court, if required and request the court to supervise the sales transaction. You can consult your lawyer and find out if such an option as this is possible in your situation.
