if I am doing a Short Sale can I buy a home later, how long do I have to wait

Though you short sale your present property, you would be able to purchase a property later on. After a short sale, you'll have to wait for 2-3 years in order to qualify for a loan.

Hi,

It is probably very good as, one of my family member is going through a short sale and he is just waiting to buy a property and by knowing this it is good for me to tell him about this as, I just want to know is there any other alternative for this as for buying a property.

I don't think there's any alternative. Your family member will have to wait for 2-3 years and then apply for a loan.
