The easiest way is a quit claim deed. Your husband will be the grantor and your name and his together will be the grantee(s). There are several websites and software packages that have this deed but if you are not 100% confident in doing it yourself, I would advise getting with an attorney to make sure you everything is done properly. _________________ Benjamin Smith

*Title* implies ownership, and that is probably what you're after. Having a home with a mortgage means you *own* the home, but that there are other interested parties with a stake in that ownership (you know who).
In many states, a person can hold *title* to a property (and be an owner) while another person carries the mortgage (if any) on that property. This happens frequently in the case where, for instance, a working child takes out a mortgage on a home owned by a retired parent. The *mortgage* is carried by one person (who must be given title to close the loan), while the property is held along with another.
Most Title and Escrow companies can handle this for you. A Notary Public will usually know about this and make any documents you execute official with the county authorities.
A quitclaim deed will remove someone from or add someone to the title to your home or other property. A common occurrence of this would be two people who are married to each other and one spouse gives up any interest in the property in question that the other spouse owns.
Good Luck,

| You simply need to go to your county recorders office and request the appropriate forms. You can have a new deed recorded. |

| My mother wants to give me the family home and I need to know how to transfer that deed into my name without paying a lawyer. |
