My stepmother passed away about 8 months ago, Her name was never put on the deed. Now my Dad wants to put the deed and other property in my name. Will we have to wait any amount of time before it will go into affect?

Hi Joe,

As far as I know, there is no such time period which you need to wait in order to let the property deed go into effect. Once the property is transferred in your name and the property deed is recorded, you will be considered as the owner of the property.

Thanks
