My mom has deeded her house to my sister and I , with her having rights of survivorship. My husband and I are thinking about filing chapter 7. Will this property be affected? Also, can I quick deed this property to my daughter?

Hi daNurse!

Welcome to forums!

As your name is mentioned on the property deed, it will be affected if you file Chapter 7 bankruptcy. You can transfer the property to your daughter, but you won't be able to file bankruptcy immediately. You will have to wait for 1 year at least and then file bankruptcy.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
