If the deed was tranferred to you and claims were not payed are claims null and void

estate settlement,
we recently settled my mother-in -laws estate.my wife and i bought out her siblings and the deed is now solely in her name.There is an unsecured loan claim against the estate.Can this creditor still legally claim this debt after the property has been transferred?

That claim, if valid and in place prior to the settlement of this estate, ought to have been settled at that time. What happened?
