hello about 25 years ago my mom and dad divorced. My dad signed over the house to my mom, which she added us five girls to the house. The house is paid off and my mom want to get a equity loan the bank said my mom's name is not on the house, however her name is on the deed. She was told to have us girls sign off and put her as the sole owner. Do we need to fill out a quick claim form and can we do this process ourselves, thank you

Hi Tulare,

You and your siblings can sign a quitclaim deed and transfer the property to your mother. Though you can do it yourself, it is always better to contact a real estate attorney who will help you in drafting the deed and recording it at the county recorder's office.

Thanks
