i received a quit claim deed to property i owned with my ex-husband. i never recorded the quit claim. is there a statute of limitations in filing that deed...it is too late?

You should record the deed immediately after the property is transferred to you. You should contact a New Jersey real estate attorney in order to find out whether or not the deed is still good to record.
