Duane Guest	Posted: Mon Aug 29, 2011 8:18 am    Post subject: guit clam deed Like 0 Dislike 0 I signed a quit clam deed 10 years ago to protect our home from a possible lien for my old debt. If my wife divorces me now will I lose my half of the house. Also in our will everything go to surviving spouse, what if she dies do I lose house because of quit clam deed?

If you feel insecure at what might happen in the future, talk this over with your wife and change back your ownership to joint tenancy (I'm assuming that is what you started with).
