I purchased the home as sole owner, I am the only one on the mortgage. After 1 month of owning I quit claimed my boyfriend on my property as joint tenants. He did repairs to the home (labor only) He has never paid the mortgage, taxes or insurance. We seperated (never married) almost 2 years ago. He refuses to remove his name from the deed and wants 1/2 of the profits. The house is "underwater". I can't afford the house on my own. The house value is not worth what I owe. I can't sell because the house is still needing to be renovated.
Is he responsible for the taxes and insurance or mortgage payments?
Is there any way to force him off the deed?

Welcome stars,

If your ex-boyfriend is not on the mortgage docs, then he is not liable for the mortgage payments. However, as his name is mentioned in the property deed, he will be liable for paying the property taxes.
