I was divorced back in February. Signing the papers I released all my interests, obligations and debt from the family home and she was to assume it. Our Morgage company called me and enlitened me with being 8 months behind and in jeopardy of foreclosure! I told them we divorced and I signed papers releasing the house to her! I figured the court papers released me of this but I was told by the mortgage company I was still liable for the debt(s) unless she was to fill the form out or call them and take me off. She will not fill this form out releasing me from still being responsible. What do I need to do or what needs to happen?

Hi Joeseph,

Unless she refinances the loan, you will remain liable for it. You may take legal actions against her and take her to court. You should even contact an attorney in this regard and take his opinion.

Thanks
