Hello, my husband owned two properties and to avoid probate he has added me to the properties via quitclaim deeds which now lists us BOTH as owners will this indeed avoid probate? We live in MISSOURI

Welcome Nana,

If your father leaves back a will, then it needs to probated so that your father's share of the property is transferred to your name. However, if no will is left back, then you can file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office and get the property transferred in your name.
