The wife had the house refinanced in her name only and later passed away. The husband has been unable to purchase another home because an Affidavit of Heirship was sent to the Registrar's office adding his name to the deed. How can the husband have his name removed from the deed as the mortage lienholder would not discuss the loan or allow him to stay in the home since he was not on the loan? _________________ Need help choosing the right loan? The husband can negotiate with the lender so that he can assume the loan. If the lender agrees to it, then he will be able to retain the property and get the mortgage transferred in his name.
