My husband and I have decided on a buyout figure prior to divorce, I would like to pay the money out now, but I want to have it done legally to protect myself, anyone know what I have to do?

Welcome christinewarren,

You can ask your husband to sign a quit claim deed in your favor and transfer the property to you. The amount that you pay to your husband shall be noted in the quit claim deed. Thus, you will have a document mentioning the amount that you pay to your husband.
