How can I or should I try to get the home in my name the payments are behind and i want to assume the mprtgage I can pay the base mortgage but I cannot pay the balloon paymemt the mortgage company is asking for Help

You need to file an affidavit of heirship with the probate court to change the name on the property title. Once the property is in your name, you can refinance the existing loan and pay off the balloon mortgage with the refinance loan amount.
