Hi, how do I go about changing the name on a house deed from my mother's name to me and my sister? There is no mortgage and my mom is still alive?

Contact a title or escrow company in your state to make sure you get the proper deed completed and properly recorded. You would be looking for a quitclaim deed, removing your mother, and deeding the home to yourself and your sister.

Hi Ann,

As the property is free and clear, your mother can sign a warranty deed and transfer the property to you and your sister. Your mother will be the grantor whereas you and your sister will be the grantee to the property. Your mother can contact an attorney and take his help in drafting the deed.

Thanks
