How do I add my name and my 2 sister to the deed of a house owned by my mother who died 4 month ago?...My mother died 4 months ago in Kansas. She was ill and lived with me at the time. I live in kansas. She willed her house ( rented out and no intention for sale for at least 2 years) in Maryland to my 2 sisters and me. How can I do this( ie add my sisters and my name to the deed of the house)in the most simple and economic way and is there a time limit to get this done?

Welcome Jingoliu,

If your mother has left a Will for your sisters and you, then it needs to go through probate before you can get the ownership rights on Maryland property. So, you need to talk to your lawyer so that he makes arrangements for the probate.

Why do I still need to go thru probate if my mother has a will. I thought you do that when there is no will?

You need to go to probate court and get a court order transferring the property according to the will. Contact a local probate attorney.
