I WANT TO PURCHASE A HOME IN PRE-FORECLOSURE AND THE CURRENT OWNER AGREES AND SIGNS IT. WHAT IA THE
WAITING PERIOD FOR ME TO TAKE LEGAL POSSESSION OF PROPERTY,TRANSFERRING MY NAME ON DEED OF TRUST AS THE OWNER?

Hi Natt,

When the current owner signs the deed to transfer the title to you and the deed is notarized and recorded, you become the legal owner of the property. Then, you own the property and can take legal possession of it. However, as the property is in pre-foreclosure, you must also talk with the lender to find out if they are aware of this change in title and if they approve of it. You should also check if there are any liens against the property before you take over its ownership.
