Can you give me an idea of what the tax rate is on the Deed TAX. The origional loan was $270,000 and the value of the house in now about $140,000.

Hi Barbara and Bryan,

The tax rate for deed tax would vary from one state to another. I would suggest you to contact a real estate attorney and he would be able to guide you in this regard in a better way.
