Hi amyrswanson,

Both the joint tenants will have to sign a property deed with a joint tenancy clause mentioned in it in order to get a joint tenancy. You can contact a real estate attorney and he will assist you in this regard.

This is typically a situation in which two people purchase a home together, but you could also be speaking of a situation in which one of the two parties is an owner at present. In that case, as Adonis noted, you can work with an attorney who can provide you with the guidance you need to accomplish what you wish.
